New vintage clothes shop proves successful

A NEW vintage clothes shop proved a success when it opened its doors recently in a canalside shop in central Newbury.

Rustythreads was opened upstairs at well known local landmark, the Teashop by the Canal, by proprietor, Jane Drescher, who said her first ‘popup' shop proved a success.

Lining rails and shelves were women's and men's vintage clothing and accessories at, she said, "an affordable price.”

“As I live in Newbury I knew the teashop would be a great setting for the shop and we had a busy afternoon with lots of customers keen to buy vintage items,” said Ms Drescher.

A longstanding interest in vintage clothing, she said, had inspired a collaboration with a friend and fashion graduate, Tash Wright, in setting up the shop.

With a further opening of Rustythreads planned this month (August), more information about the shop is shortly to be placed on the website, which can be accessed by clicking the link below.
