New woodland garden sees celebration at Chieveley Primary
The headteacher, Linda Wood, parent Helen Parsons and school governor Susan Spence officially opened the event and the garden.
This was followed by a Mad Hatters Parade and competition of homemade Mad Hats by children and adults.
Prizes were awarded for the best hats, donated by the Red Lion pub in Chieveley, The Entertainer toy shop and Waitrose.
During the afternoon, guests enjoyed a range of games and activities such as a texture trail, creating leaf crowns and smelly cocktails, as well as welly wanging, face painting and beat the goalie.
There was also a chance to write a wish for the school’s wishing tree.
The event was also a fundraiser for the parent teacher association.
