Newbury actress filmed for Bollywood remake of Oculus




A NEWBURY schoolgirl has just finished a month’s filming as one of the child actors for a Bollywood adaption of American horror movie .

Eleven-year-old actress and St Gabriel’s pupil Rysa Saujani beat off a host of other applicants and followed an intense audition process to win the role of young Natasha in the Hindi language remake .

Her mother Fahiman Saujani said: “We are extremely proud of her achievement.”

Rysa said: “I am extremely proud to have been given the opportunity to work in this wonderful movie.

“The role was extremely intense and very challenging since I had to portray lots of different emotions.

“I had a great time on set and would like to thank each and every one, including my parents, who have been by my side and supporting me.”

She added that she will next be pursuing her studies, but would also continue to perform on stage and on film as often as possible. She said: “It’s challenging to do both but I am confident that I just have to work a little harder.”

Her all-time favourite movie is and she says she finds inspiration in actresses such as Shailene Woodley and Angelina Jolie.

The movie is directed by Prawaal Raman and is currently being filmed.
