Newbury auction house throws open doors for celebrity Bargain Hunt
BBC Radio 1 and Radio 4 DJ's go head-to-head
A NEWBURY auction house will host a celebrity bargain hunt in aid of Children in Need on Tuesday October 25, and where special auction lots – including a limited edition Pudsey bear – will go under the hammer.
Special Auction Services (SAS), at Greenham Business Park, will throw open the doors to the public for the fun-packed Celebrity Bargain Hunt and auction to raise money for the charity.
BBC Radio 1 DJs, Dev Griffin and Alice Levine will go head to head with BBC Radio 4 presenters, Nick Robinson and Aasmah Mir, to see who raises the most money at the auction.
In addition to the lots bought by the celebrity teams, 25 special lots donated by BBC’s Bargain Hunt presenters and experts will also go under the hammer, including a large, limited edition Steiff Pudsey bear.
Other lots include: a chance to go on location with the Bargain Hunt team; two Bargain Hunt fleeces, signed by the celebrity contestants; and a special Children in Need 2016 signed gavel, plus a signed copy of an auction catalogue.
A Bargain Hunt Mystery Box will nestle among the lots, containing special objects from experts’ personal collections.
Other lots will include a necklace much admired and oft worn by presenter Anita Manning and framed, limited edition print of The Old Bookshop provided by David Harper, along with a framed, signed photograph of the presenters.
Free entry to the auction at 10am, in Auction Room Two, Special Auction Services, 80 Greenham Business Park, Newbury, RG19 6HW.
