Staff receive qualification awards

STAFF from home care company Bluebird Care Newbury, based in Newbury Business Park, were presented with awards at a recent ceremony.

The 19 staff received awards, including health and social care diplomas at level 2 and 3, specialist award in dementia care at level 2, specialist award in end-of-life care at level 2, and preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector.

Care manager Maria Williams said: “We’re so delighted to be able to recognise the hard work of our staff who have studied hard for these qualifications, often in their own time, so that our customers can benefit from having well-trained, skilled and committed staff delivering care and support in their own homes.

“Our aim at Bluebird Care is to provide the highest standards of care for our customers.

“We treat everyone with respect, warmth and compassion, providing the level of care we would want our own family members or friends to receive.”

The firm has more than 50 staff, many of whom have been studying to obtain a variety of health and social care qualifications in the last year, working across the West Berkshire local authority area, providing care at home to older people and people with a physical or learning disability.
