Two national awards for Newbury Building Society at the British Bank Awards

Newbury Building Society has been named Best Building Society at the prestigious British Bank Awards 2025.

The society also won the Best Building Society Savings Provider category, seeing off competition from 12 other building societies.

Newbury Building Society chief executive Phillippa Cardno said: “We are honoured to have received these prestigious awards.

The British Bank Awards, run by UK financial review site Smart Money People, are in their 11th year and were held at The Brewery in London on Friday, May 23.

The award winners are decided by votes from customers, with 178,000 cast this year.

These awards follow the society’s win at the UK Customer Satisfaction Awards 2025, where it was named Trusted Quality Provider.

Newbury Building Society has around 190 employees with 10 branches across Berkshire, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire. Its head office is based in Newbury and it has a branch in Thatcham.
