Newbury care worker to do 13 walks by 2013

After losing her Mum to breast cancer in 2006, Sandra sis determined to use this experience to give herself the motivation to raise awareness and money for breast cancer.
Assisted by local home care provider Bluebird Care, Sandra hopes to complete 13 half marathons and marathons by the middle of 2013, concluding her fundraising with the ‘WalktheWalk’ Nijmegen March in July 2013. Bluebird Care Director Phil Miles said “when Sandra came to us to ask for support, we were delighted to help. It was a pleasure to be able to play a part in supporting a number of very worthwhile charities by paying for Sandra’s entry to all 13 events.”
Having completed the Moonwalk London 2012, Edinburgh Moonwalk 2012 and the Pink Ribbon 20 mile walk, Sandra will be participating in a further 10 walks to raise money for 3 breast cancer charities: WalktheWalk, Breast Cancer Care and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Sandra says that "running is not my thing but I was determined to do something for breast cancer after my mum's experience.” Determined, Sandra really "wants to go on to bigger challenges, but I thought 13 walks would be tough enough to start with.”
Sandra's next marathon will be 1st September in London and you can donate to www.justgiving.com/Sandra-Owen1 or you can contact Sandra through Bluebird Care on 01635 36953 or newbury@bluebirdcare.co.uk
