Newbury charity refers more than 1,000 volunteers to projects





Members of the Newbury-based charity – which runs themed recruitment fairs and provides transport for those with mobility problems – were told this as they celebrated another successful year at their annual general meeting.
They also heard that Newbury Handybus had undertaken 10,938 journeys and Newbury Shopmobility had loaned 3,700 power scooters and wheelchairs, the centre had arranged 23 corporate team volunteering challenges and the Newbury community car scheme had undertaken 1,829 journeys.
Chairman of the Trustees,Tim Barton, said “The Charity has had an excellent year, despite tough conditions around funding, and the trustees congratulate [centre director] Garry Poulson and his team in Bolton Place for delivering on the charities aims.”
