Newbury Church supports West Berkshire Food Bank

Newbury Methodist Church held an outdoor service on Saturday, October 1, with a band playing from St Mary's Church, Greenham.

Over the past few weeks, the church has been collecting food and raising funds for their harvest project, part of which involved their Shell Group making scarecrows.

This Saturday at 6pm, church staff are organising a quiz and jacket potato supper.

Tickets cost £6, with the proceeds going to the West Berkshire Food Bank.

The church has also held coffee mornings to the same effect.

So far, they have raised more than £400 and collected enough food to make 161 meals.

To book tickets for this Saturday, please contact david@newburymethodistchurch.org and select between a choice of potato filling: tuna mayo, savoury mince, cheese and beans or just cheese.
