Newbury costumier cone take any more

Joker’s Masquerade staged the protest over parking concerns at the company offices on Kennet Side after receiving what it said were mixed responses from the council.
Explaining the protest, company spokesman Ian Tomkins said: “Over the last couple of weeks we’ve seen a dramatic increase in on-road parking along Bone Lane, resulting in it becoming very congested and causing issues with visibility and safety when exiting Kennet Side, forcing cars to turn right into oncoming traffic.
“We took it upon ourselves to take a few of our road cone costumes and protest the situation.
“The response from passing vehicles and pedestrians was one of amusement. While intended to be a light-hearted response, we wanted to raise awareness how it has become quite dangerous and could lead to an accident before long unless the parking improves.”
West Berkshire Council has been approached for comment but have not responded to requests to comment.
