BBC Economics Editor Faisal Islam visits Newbury farm to highlight labour shortage in agriculture industry

BBC Economics Editor Faisal Islam visited Rookery Farm, Newbury, for an item for BBC News.

Mr Islam was reporting on labour shortages in UK agriculture.

He visited the farm this week to see how they were coping and to learn of the problems that the farming community faced, in particular during Harvest season.

While he was there Mr Islam met Berkshire Farm Girl Eleanor Gilbert, who tweeted: "So nice to meet @faisalislam his enthusiasm and interest in all things farming was infectious.

We really enjoyed having you at @RookeryFarms"

Miss Gilbert told NewburyToday: "He was really interested in Newbury and the area and a very witty and down to earth person who was fascinated with what we were doing and he enjoyed his visit."
