Newbury firefighters called to canal boat fire





According to Chris Cound, crew manager of Blue Watch at Newbury Fire Station, one crew was called at 1pm, to a fire on a canal boat on the canal near Northcroft Leisure Centre.
"The people on the boat had put out the fire with an extinguisher," said Mr Cound.
No-one was hurt. The cause was an electrical fault in the engine.
The incident was closed after 20 minutes.
