According to Mike Wilson, Red Watch manager at Newbury Fire Station, one fire engine from Newbury Fire Station, a total five firefighters, were called at 7am to a house in Bartlemy Road, to discover the woman and her son accidentally locked in a bedroom.
“We dismantled the door frame and jiggled the door open,” said Mr Wilson.
“She had been trying to get out for half an hour, the internal handle mechanism had broken.”
The little boy had a treat after the incident when firefighters allowed him to sit inside the fire engine” He was as happy as Larry,” added Mr Wilson.
