Newbury hair salon LK Hair & Beauty named the best in the South of England at the English Hair and Beauty Awards 2024

A Newbury hairdressers and beauty salon has been named the best hair salon in the South of England.

LK Hair & Beauty, at 43 Regnum Drive in Shaw, took home the hair salon of the year award on the southern night of the English Hair and Beauty Awards 2024.

The winners were announced at a black-tie ceremony on Sunday, April 21, at The Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel in Bedford.

LK owner Kim Watts said: “I wasn’t expecting it and when it happened I was a little bit shaky. I was quite overwhelmed.

“I think it has been a real boost for the team.

“We have had a few stressful years with Covid and everything, and I think it just shows that determination, dedication and teamwork really does pay off and it shows the successes that you can achieve within the industry.”

Mrs Watts thought that the salon’s award success could be down to her team always being up to date with the latest industry knowledge, with her employees always looking to use innovative techniques and products.

She also praised her business manager Jordan Stacey for keeping the LK team on track and for being a major reason for the business’s successes.

Headley-based spa Laurabella, The Barn was also highly commended in the spa of the year category on the night too.
