The news comes after the company's administrators, Deloitte, announced that 66 of HMVs 220 stores would be closing across the UK leaving 930 staff facing redundancy.
HMV entered administration in January after facing rising debts and failing to compete with online retailers and supermarkets.
Restructuring company Hilco, which owns HMV Canada, has purchased the company's debt and has already cut 190 jobs at the UK head office and distribution centre .
