The Newbury Weekly News reported in May how Freddie Kowalski suffered a stroke within days of being born, damaging both sides of his brain.
His mother, Nicky Clark, and father Charlie Kowalski said they had spent many hours at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital but doctors were uncertain as to what had caused the stroke.
Miss Clark works at Newbury’s John Lewis store and staff at the branch formed the ‘Friends of Freddie’; setting out to raise £12,000 in a year to repay the organisations and charities that had helped him.
Find out what they did and who for in this week's Newbury Weekly News.
