Newbury Library display chimes with World Autism Awareness Day
Castle school and Priors Court pupils' work feature
Artwork created by pupils from two special Newbury schools is on display at Newbury Library and to chime with World Autism Awareness Day tomorrow (Thursday April 2).
Artwork created by pupils from Prior’s Court, in Hermitage and and the Castle school, Donnington, was recently (March 26) delivered by the schools to Newbury Library and is now on display in the children's section.
Louise Cole, Teacher and Art Coordinator at Prior’s Court, Louise Cole, said despite struggling to communicate through language and work as a team, pupils had all worked "fantastically together" she said on the successful project and continued:
"This project has given them a means to express themselves visually and creatively and celebrate their differences.”
The Newbury Library display forms part of LibraryFest2015, taking place in all libraries across West Berkshire until April 23. For more details pick up a leaflet from local libraries.
