Newbury lido rolls back the covers today (Saturday)

West Berkshire Council are encouraging swimming pool fans to get the Jubilee weekend off to a fun filled start with a dip in Berkshire’s largest heated outdoor swimming pool, located at Northcroft Leisure Centre, Northcroft Lane, in Newbury.
Hilary Cole, West Berkshire's Executive Councillor for Cultural and Leisure Services (Con, Chieveley) said: “It is great news that this popular community facility is opening its doors for what we hope will be a long hot summer. Staff at both Northcroft Leisure Centre and the council have done an excellent job in preparing the pool, to make sure it is in tip top condition and ready for the start of the season.”
Rose Metalli, Manager at Northcroft Leisure Centre said: " The lido will be ready in time for the Queen’s diamond jubilee and if the current weather keeps up we will have a busy, fun packed summer. On cooler days, we aim to keep the pool to a pleasant 26 degrees."
The pool opens at 10 am today (Saturday June 2) and will be open every day through to Sunday September 2 as follows:

Weekdays 7:15 to 8:45am and 11am to 7pm
Weekends and Bank Holidays 10 am to 6 pm
