Newbury man and Kintbury woman in London Marathon line-up

Already in training for the 26.2-mile London Marathon is Lloyd Lilley, aged 47, co-proprietor of dance/fitness venue, The Liberty, Greenham Business Park.
Mr Lilley, who has lived in Newbury for 24 years, gave up smoking in October.
He will tackle his first full marathon in a couple of months, when he aims to fulfill a lifetime’s ambition of running the London Marathon.
He has previously run the Reading Half Marathon four times, and also the Bath and Cardiff half marathons both once, raising well over £2,000 for local charity Swings and Smiles.
“This time I’m raising money for The Big Match, who raise money for Brain Tumour UK and Action for Children,” said Mr Lilley, who hopes to raise £1,500, also in support of his friend, Neil Humphries, of Reading, founder of The Big Match.
Mr Lilley added: “A very good friend of my children died in his early 20s from a brain tumour. This has inspired me also.”
Helen Swallow, of Kintbury, will also be at the London Marathon starting line in April, to raise funds for the charity Interactive, which helps to provide support and facilities for people with disabilities, giving them the opportunity to participate in sport and maintain an active lifestyle.
