Newbury man arrested in seaside punch-up

A NEWBURY man has been arrested following a public order incident at a seaside resort.

Police said the 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker during the incident in Pier Approach in Bournemouth during the evening of Monday, June 30.

The disturbance involved a large group and several police officers were injured, as well as a teenage girl who was taken to hospital for treatment.

Their injuries are not believed to be serious.
