Newbury man charged with attempted robbery

The 43-year-old was arrested on Wednesday (17) and charged with one count of attempted robbery and one count of theft of a vehicle.
The attempted robbery charge is in connection with an attempted robbery at Corals bookmakers in Station Road, Reading, on Thursday, February 11.
The theft charge is in relation to the theft of a Vauxhall Vectra from Oxford Road, Reading on Monday (15).
The man appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (18), where he was remanded in custody to appear at Reading Crown Court on a date yet to be determined.
