Newbury man cuts off 12-year-old dreadlocks for charity

Mr Foster runs Oriol’s music centre, which is named after his two-year-old son and offers musical activities for people with learning difficulties, from a studio in New Greenham Park.
The 32-year-old took the drastic decision to cut off his dreadlocks to fund the running of his music centre, which he opened in June last year.
The cropping took place at his studio on Sunday, raising nearly £3,000 in the process, with money still coming in.
“I don’t recognise myself,” said Mr Foster. “It’s a shock every time I look in the mirror, but I’m slowly getting used to it.”
Despite now feeling the cold, he said: “I don’t think I’ll grow them back, I’m getting a bit too old for dreadlocks, plus I’m going a bit thin on top!”
Mr Foster’s friend, Adam Best had the job of shaving his friend’s hair after donating £15 to the music centre.
