Newbury man given region's first Criminal Behaviour order

Danny Heap, aged 22, of no fixed abode, was given the Criminal Behaviour Order at Newbury Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday).
The order bans Mr Heap from entering any licensed premises associated with Pub Watch in Newbury until December 17, 2016.
The order was made after Mr Heap was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in Market Place, Newbury at about 2.45am on 30 November.
Mr Heap was later charged and pleaded guilty to the offence.
Anti-Social Behaviour Officer for West Berkshire Local Police Area, Pc Pete Duffy said: “Heap had previously been given a Pub Watch ban, which he persistently breached and whilst doing so became abusive to members of staff at licensed premises as well as police officers.
“This order is designed to tackle Heap’s anti-social behaviour and address his offending. If he breaches the order it provides the police with the power to arrest him.
“The police and members of the Newbury Pub Watch Scheme will work together to manage this order.”
