Newbury man on imitation firearm charges

Arrest followed incident in Greenham
A MAN has been charged with using an imitation firearm in Greenham.
The 19-year-old from Newbury was charged with one count of attempted robbery and one count of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Reading Magistrates' Court on March 29 2012.
The charges relate to an incident in Christie Heights, Greenham, Newbury, on December 14, where a man was approached by two men and threatened with what appeared to be a handgun. Nothing was stolen in the incident and the imitation firearm was recovered by officers.
