Dave Browne, of Meyrick Drive, was selected to play the part of toothy playboy Clark Tresco in 'The Moomins On The Riviera', which premiered at the Hackney Playhouse on Saturday.
Mr Browne, who also works as the compere at the Newbury Real Ale Festival, stars alongside well known actors including Russell Tovey (Being Human, Him and Her), Nathaniel Parker (Merlin, Stardust) and Tracy Ann Oberman (EastEnders).
Speaking to the Newbury Weekly News after the premiere, he said: “It was a brilliant experience, I’m over the moon. It was just mad.
“I was signing autographs and sat alongside these celebrities watching the film.
“It was so surreal to hear my voice on screen and the first time my character came on it got a laugh from the audience, which was a great feeling.”
Mr Browne has also been a DJ in Newbury for the past few years with a residency at the Canal Bar.
