Newbury man remanded in custody following burglary




Burglar stole a car and children's items

A Newbury man has been charged with burglary.

Maurice Black, aged 34, of Crawford Place was charged in connection of stealing boxes of trainers, children’s character costumes, children’s watches, clocks and a wallet from a property in Western End.

A Vauxhall Meriva and its keys was also stolen.

The burglary occurred between 11pm and and 6am on October 6 and 7.

Mr Black was charged with one count of burglary of a dwelling on Friday, October 9 after being arrested the day before.

He appeared at Reading Magistrates Court on the same day he was charged and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Reading Crown Court on Monday, November 2.
