Newbury man scoops tickets to 2015 Corn Exchange shows in golden competition

Fred Fortmuller, aged 74 of Lipscombe Close, won the year-long prize in the theatre’s golden ticket prize draw.
Mr Fortmuller said he particularly enjoys the music programme at the Corn Exchange and New Greenham Arts, but added that he is looking forward to sampling new genres at the venues, such as comedy.
And, if Mr Fortmuller is unable to attend any of the performances, he can lend his ticket to family members and friends.
“I’ve been coming to the Corn Exchange for many years and really enjoy their many shows,” he said. “They do a fantastic job and I was delighted when the golden ticket scheme came up so that I could help by participating, and give my support to the Corn Exchange, which in turn helps the whole community, both young and old.”
Newbury Corn Exchange director Katy Griffiths said: “A year’s worth of entertainment is an incredible prize and I can’t wait to see Mr Fortmuller regularly at the Corn Exchange.
“A huge thank you to everyone who entered and helped us with our fundraising efforts, as we work to make sure we can maintain our beautiful building and keep going with our performances and events.”
