Newbury Mayor hosts afternoon tea party for elderly residents

The Mayor of Newbury is inviting the town's oldest residents to join him for another afternoon tea.

After last year's success, the next festive afternoon tea party will take place on Tuesday, December 13 from 2pm at Newbury Baptist Church Hall.

Booking is on a first come, first service basis due to limited tickets. Please note guests should be over 75-years-old and will need to arrange their own transport to and from the venue.

Mr Norman said: "I'm very excited to be hosting this event following last year's success. With the 'Mayor's Drive & Tea Party' no longer taking place, it's important to me that we can offer an alternative event which will be just as much, or even more fun."

Guests will be served an afternoon tea box with sandwiches, scones and sweet treats along with a cup of tea and a festive tipple.

Please contact the Mayor's office on 07538 334 106 or email mayor@newbury.gov.uk to reserve your place, supplying your name, date of birth, postal address and any dietary requirements.

Tickets will be posted to your address, which will confirm your reservation. Alternatively, send your interest to the Mayor's Parlour, Newbury Town Hall, Market Place, Newbury, RG14 5AA.
