Newbury MG owners boost charity funds

A total 60 guests at Deanwood Golf Club, Stockcross, enjoyed the evening last month (Oct 5) organised by the Newbury MG Owners Club.
The proceeds of the evening, attended mostly by MG club members, boosted funds for The Newbury and District Cancer Care Trust by £100.
A cheque was presented to the trust at the golf club last Thursday (Nov 21), and MG club area secretary, Roger Boys, afterwards said:
“The cheque was gratefully received by Helen Milroy and will be put to good use for the benefit of local people.”
Last year (2012), male members of the MG club raised £120 by growing whiskers during the charity initiative, Movember, which was donated to the £1m Robbie the Robot appeal at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, aimed at securing robotic assisted surgery for prostate cancer.
