Newbury MP to host public meeting for views on Gaza crisis

It follows weeks of violent protests and bombings in which more than 1,200 people have died as the battle for occupation the Gaza strip between Israeli and Palestinian groups continues.
Mr Benyon has said he is holding the meeting so he can put the concerns of his constituents to the relevant ministers in Parliament.
He said: “The crisis unfolding between the Israelis and the Palestinians is utterly deplorable and one which my constituents and the nation care deeply about.
“This will be an informal meeting for me to hear views from all sides.
“I will listen carefully to the concerns raised by our local community and will be passing them on to ministers.”
The meeting is being held in Newbury Town Hall from 6pm to 7pm.
There has been conflict between the two groups since 2006, however the latest outburst of violence was caused by the abduction and killing of three Israeli teenagers in June, and the following murder of a Palestinian teenager in Jerusalem on July 2.
