Newbury Parkrun at Greenham Common sets the pace for 2022
Hundreds of runners braved the cold and rainy conditions as Parkrun continued its triumphant return to Newbury in 2022.
Saturday saw the second run of the year for many dedicated followers, after 321 people took part in the first one of 2022 in the early morning sunshine on New Year's Day.
The first person home this weekend also clocked the 10th fastest Parkrun time in the UK on that day, according to fastrunning.com.
Rowan Miell-Ingram, finished the 5km route around Greenham Common, in 15minutes 42seconds, a new personal best time.
The first woman finisher was Nina Martin, who was taking part in her 100th Parkrun – a feat also achieved on Saturday by Sarah Harvey, David Wilson and Richard Disney.
Newbury Parkrun's organisers are always looking for more volunteers to help ensure the runs go smoothly. If you can help you can email newbury@parkrun.com
