Newbury PCSO praised for work in the community
Police Community Support Officer, Sue Gillespie, has been described as an absolute asset to the town centre team
A FAMILIAR face around Newbury town centre has been praised for her continued work in the community.
Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Sue Gillespie has been walking the streets of Newbury for four years, prior to which she worked on the front counter at Newbury police station for six years.
In that time, she has become a well-known face around the town centre, with her involvement at the drop-in centre at Newbury Baptist Church, Loose Ends and her desire to improve the community in which she lives and works.
Insp Dave Milsom, of the Newbury town centre neighbourhood policing team, said: “Sue is totally committed to serving the people of Newbury and is very professional and motivated.
“There is no one in Newbury who does not know or speak greatly of her. In short, Sue is a very hard working PCSO, who will go that extra mile to help out anyone, often in her own time, and is an absolute asset to the Newbury town centre team.”
