Rap/urban four member music group, South Finesse - ‘Slick’ - Oli Macksoni, vocalist, ‘Emmie Jay’ - Emmie De Carvalho, ‘Lynx’ - Norm Macksoni and ‘Melodee’ - Rayall Thompson, who are all from Newbury, except ‘Lynx’ who is from Hayden End, Swindon, are to issue their EP, Taking Off, on September 10.
The band, who were among bands who played live at last year’s charity fundraising, Vodafone Festival, at Thatcham Football Club, have also recently seen their music played on a national radio station:
“Their debut single from the album is already being played on BBC Radio 1Xtra (sister station to Radio 1) and hopefully there will be some BBC Radio 1 plays soon too, “ said a Elin Rees, a spokeswoman for the band, adding:
“The band really value the support they receive in Newbury.”
Slick and Lynx are brothers in the band - whose Wanna Ride music video was playlisted on Channel AKA, before reaching number one in the channel’s charts and staying there for two weeks.
In September last year, South Finesse launched their single, Take Over Radio, on to iTunes. The music video was a hit on Channel AKA and FLAVA.
The band have spent the past year working on their album with chart topping producer/published songwriter, Joe Lawrence - aka Joe90.
Joe90, who runs Bossman Studios, has worked on the television series, X Factor, producing backing tracks, as well as producing/writing for artists such as Aggro Santos, Alesha Dixon, East 17, Electrovamp, Black The Ripper and others.
