Newbury prepares for mayor making ceremony

The town's annual mayor making ceremony will take place on Sunday
THE 415th mayor of Newbury will be sworn in on Sunday (May 15) at the annual mayor making ceremony in the Corn Exchange.
The outgoing mayor, Ian Grose, will hand over the reins to his successor, who is due to be nominated tonight (Wednesday) at the first full council meeting of Newbury Town Council since last Friday's local elections.
The mayor making ceremony is due to start at 10am on Sunday, although tickets are required for the event.
