Another Newbury pub is searching for a new manager.

The Plough on the Green, located in Stroud Green, is seeking a manager to operate under owner Marston’s Community Wet Partnership for drink-led pubs.

The agreement would see the tenant sign a five-year lease with the pub company.

Other examples of this arrangement locally include The Bacon Arms, in Oxford Street, Newbury.

Current Plough on the Green manager Kirstie Lane said she is stepping away from the pub once her lease expires.

But she confirmed the pub is still trading well and very much open to customers.

The pub currently averages £9,500 in weekly sales, according to Marston’s.

The new tenant would receive a 22 per cent share of weekly sales (excluding VAT) plus a guaranteed annual retained sum of £25,000, released on a weekly basis.

Other town centre pubs currently looking for new management or to sell include The Cross Keys on London Road, The Catherine Wheel in Market Place, the King Charles Tavern in Cheap Street and The Newbury in Bartholomew Street.
