Newbury racecourse horse death probe continues
Internal investigation is still ongoing into electrocution of horses Marching Song and Fenix Two
AN investigation into the deaths of two horses at Newbury Racecourse in February is still ongoing.
The Racecourse and the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) have this week said the scrutiny of events which led to the electrocution of Marching Song, trained by Andy Turnell, and Fenix Two, trained by Jonjo O'Neill, in the parade ring prior to the novice hurdle race on February 12, is still ongoing.
A spokeswoman for the racecourse, Harriet Rochester, said no further information would be released as an internal investigation had not yet been completed.
She could not confirm how long the investigation would take, or whether the results would be made public.
The BHA has said the responsibility for the investigation, and communication of results, lies with the racecourse itself, and it has nothing to publish at this time.
