Newbury Rainbows share memories of twenty-five years
Members of the 1st Newbury South District Rainbow Guide unit held an event at the weekend for past helpers, Rainbows and their parents to come and share their memories with the current unit.
The group has been run by guider-in-charge Jacqui Lynn since she founded the unit in 1988.
Guider Lesley Kerry said: "Twenty-five years is a huge achievement.
"All of us are volunteers and we don’t do it for thanks, we do it for the smiles on the girls faces."
Mrs Kerry, who has been involved with the Guiding movement for 20 years, said that the unit was very popular and that there was always a waiting list.
At the weekend a display of different crafts that the unit had carried out over its 25 years was on display.
