Newbury Real Ale Festival hands over cheque to Naomi House

The five-figure sum was half of the £20,000 the festival raised this year.
Organisers also donated £10,000 to its other beneficiary, the Newbury and Thatcham Hockey Club.
David Whittingham, who sits on the festival’s organising committee, said: “After our most successful festival to date, we are delighted to be able to donate £10,000 this year to this great charity that we have supported with the event over the last 11 years.
“We are already looking forward to next year’s festival and are keen to get more local sponsors on board to help us to continue to grow this great community event.”
Naomi House is based in Hampshire and offers respite care to sick children and their families. Next year’s festival will be held at its usual location at Northcroft playing fields.
