Newbury RFC welcomes match day mascots from Interakt
Newbury RFC is celebrating a double win over the past week.
As well as beating Reading in a recent double header, players enjoyed being cheered on to the pitch by new mascots.
Participants of Interakt embraced the chance to become mascots for the club's first team on match day.
The game took place on Saturday (February 18), drawing a crowd of up to 350 people.
Newbury RFC president, David Jones, said he relished the opportunity to promote such community involvement.
Interakt — a Newbury charity supporting young people and adults with learning, physical and sensory challenges — operates out of the Monks Lane club, with whom it has been partnered with for almost three years.
The club has also previously played a game of touch rugby with the Berkshire Brigands — the county's first mixed ability rugby team — based at Reading.
