Newbury road race aims for 1,000 runners

Organisers of the Bayer Newbury 10K believe the extra 350 spaces will be snapped up

ORGANISER'S of the Bayer Newbury 10K, which takes place in May, are hoping for a record number of runners with the announcement that registration is now open.

The entry limit has been increased to a record 1,000 participants from 650, and the organisers believe the places will be snapped up.

Bayer's Andrea Postles, who is co-ordinating entries with organisers, Newbury AC, for the race on May 29, said: “We're excited we've been able to expand the race to take more runners, because demand was very high last year.

“We're expecting places to be in big demand again this year, so we would still encourage people to get their entries in early to be sure of a place.”
