Newbury road reopened after woman collapses

According to Christine Brown, a spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police, Gloucester Road was closed by police shortly after 6pm, after a woman had collapsed by the roadside.
Police initially thought the incident was due to a road traffic accident, but this was later ruled out as the cause. Police said the woman was taken to hospital in Basingstoke by ambulance.
The road was reopened last night, shortly after emergency services left the scene.
