Boundary Road to shut again for more roadworks – just weeks after fully reopening
A Newbury road is to shut again, just weeks after it fully reopened following months of roadworks.
Boundary Road had been closed to northbound traffic, with only southbound traffic permitted from its junction with Kings Road to its junction with Railway Road, from August 1.
It reopened in the middle of December, but is now due to close again for three more weeks from Monday.
It will be shut from 9.30am on Monday (January 8), the day most West Berkshire schools return after the Christmas break, until 3.30pm on Friday, January 26.
The closure is in place to allow Volker Highways, on behalf of West Berkshire Council, to carry out highway repair and maintenance works.
At the same time there will be further roadworks on Kings Road, but the road will remain open to traffic.
These will run from Tuesday until Thursday next week.
The roadworks are to allow Thames Water to carry out utility repair and maintenance works.
