Newbury school launches free heritage "trails"

The West Berkshire RE “trails” were launched last week at St Nicolas School, funded through grants received by the West Berkshire Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education.
The “trails” provide maps and lesson plans for a range of activities uncovering the history and heritage of sites around Thatcham and Newbury, with a website launched with resources for teachers to explore the local area with their pupils.
Headteacher of St Nicolas School and local representative for SACRE Keith Harvey said: “The West Berkshire RE trails are a fantastic resource for teachers, whether they are looking for inspiration within the classroom or an opportunity for an R.E. trip within the local community. They will enable us to explore the diverse nature of religion within West Berkshire.”
