Newbury Show returns
After a three-year hiatus, the Newbury Show is back. And you can now grab your advance tickets.
The two-day festival of farming, food and fun will be returning to the Newbury Showground on September 16 and 17.
A variety of attractions and entertainment is in store with fun and interactive ‘have-a-go’ activities for all the family.
It will be welcoming back many popular attractions, from its food hall and countryside area to its grand parade of livestock.
It promises to deliver a spectacular livestock line-up, with award winning sheep, pigs and cattle, all vying to become Champion of Champions.
The Champion of Champions will be announced at Sunday’s ‘Livestock Parade’ – although parades will take place in the main arena each day of the show.
There will also be a goat and poultry display, mini petting farm and what it calls an extremely popular ‘Sheep Show’.
The Scurry Driving Association National Championship returns to the main arena for a showdown of teams with ponies weaving in and out of obstacles at incredible speeds.
Show manager Amber Wernham said: “The whole team are so excited for the return of Newbury Show, where there will be hundreds of things to see and do.
“We are delighted to once again welcome dogs to the show and all arrangements to accompany them are in place to make it a real family day out.
“The show offers something for everyone, and gives a fantastic opportunity to learn more about farming and offers the chance to get up close to a variety of animals.
“The event is inclusive for all, with accessibility provisions to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the day with us.”
The event is run by the Newbury & District Agricultural Society, a registered charity with the aim of educating the public on the need to preserve the countryside and wildlife.
It also seeks to promote and support the British agricultural, horticultural, forestry and rural crafts industries.
