Newbury students get massaging for charity
Visitors to Newbury College can de-stress whilst raising funds for a children's charity
MARCH madness has come to Newbury College this month - and the heat is on for students to raise loads-of-money for charity.
Beauty students at the college are putting their beauty skills to good use to raise money for the NSPCC.
Throughout March, level one beauty students at the college in Monk's Lane will be offering clients back, shoulder, neck and head massages every Monday, at the reduced price of £4 per massage.
Organiser and beauty lecturer at the college, Marilyn Dodd, said the aim was to raise as much money as possible for the NSPCC, adding: “It is a charity that I and the learners feel strongly about. The fundraiser will also be part of the Learners' Team Work unit, which goes towards their final grade. The event will also help learners improve and develop their team building skills and massage techniques.”
For more information on the fundraiser, or beauty courses offered at Newbury College, telephone (01635) 845000, or visit www.newbury-college.ac.uk.
The college is also holding an open day on Saturday, March 26, from 10am to 1pm, for those wanting to find out more about full and part time courses available at the college.
