Newbury Weekly News Over 80s' Parcel Fund 2020

The Tea and Tobacco Fund this year beat all records”……… “No 99” was one of the happiest households in the Newbury district on Christmas day.’

If you had been receiving a Newbury Weekly News food parcel 100 years ago it would have contained either a tin of tea or tobacco.

Times have certainly changed and 2020 has been very different too, but the Parcel Fund continues!

This year we are doing the same thanks to so many people who are still willing to give up their time and help and will be distributing over 2000 parcels for which we will need over £20,000!

How can you help?

If you would like to donate to The Parcel Fund, this year The Good Exchange are matching any donations to boost our funds. If you are able to donate online please use the link below.

Alternatively if you would like to donate to by cheque please make it payable to ‘NWN Over 80s Parcel Fund’ and post it to Joanne Fulker at the Newbury Weekly News, Newspaper House, Faraday Road, Newbury, Berks RG14 2AD.

For many of the elderly residents in Newbury, Hungerford and Thatcham and the surrounding villages, who don’t have family around them, the delivery of the Christmas Food Parcel and some company for a few minutes is what they look forward to each Christmas.
