Newbury's Michaelmas Fair 2015 swings into action
Mayor of Newbury opens fun packed extravaganza
NEWBURY's Michaelmas fair swung into action on Wednesday evening when the extravanganza was opened by the mayor of Newbury Howard Bairstow.
The fair at Goldwell and Northcroft parks in Northcroft Lane lasts until Saturday, and Friday evening will see a gigantic fireworks display.
The 400-year old fair returned to the parks with 20 white-knuckle and children's rides.
The Orbitor and the Wave Swinger have been terrifying willing punters and the fair also offers traditional rides including dodgems and a family carousel.
Alongside are more than 50 stalls to browse, with tasty treats and tantalising smells drifting across the fairground.
More fun is to be had with games and prizes at the fair, organised by the Showman's Guild.
