Newbury's Michaelmas fair comes to town
NEWBURY'S Michaelmas Fair, which dates back to the 17th century, is once again open for business this week.
The fair held at Northcroft Park was officially opened by Newbury Mayor Arthur Johnson on Wednesday (pictured) and runs through until Saturday.
Tonight (Friday) there will be a free firework display at the fair commencing at 9pm.
Among the 45 rides is the so-called booster ride, which takes punters 150ft in the air in spinning gondolas.
However if you prefer to have your feet on the ground you can take a drive on the dodgems or take a swing on the carousel.
There are also more than 100 stalls, including food and games.
The fair is open from 6pm to 10.30pm today, and from 2pm to 11pm tomorrow (Saturday).
