WEST Berkshire Council and its waste management partner Veolia are encouraging people to make their New Year’s resolution to be delivering a ‘cleaner and greener district’ by reducing, reusing and recycling their waste. Council spokeswoman Peta Stoddart-Crompton said that just a few small changes could make a big difference to the environment and save money. Card, plastic bottles, aerosols, cans, glass, garden and food waste can all be recycled in the council’s recycling bins and real Christmas trees can be taken to the waste and recycling centre, Newtown Road, and can also be put out for collection at the same time as your rubbish. All waste collection dates are delayed due to bank holidays. Check on our website for the full revised dates.
