No objections to Thatcham police station plans
Thatcham Town Council's planning committee have raised no objection to plans to build houses on the site
MEMBERS of Thatcham Town Council's planning committee have raised no objections to plans to build houses on the former police station site.
Plans to demolish the station and build seven houses on the plot have been submitted to West Berkshire Council.
Members of the council's planning committee unanimously raised no objections subject to no development at the rear of the site resulting in overlooking or loss of amenity to residents living in properties to the north.
It was announced in August that the detached property in Chapel Street, which was used as office space for police staff, would close as it was too cramped to house all members of staff and because of a number of health and safety issues that would be expensive to rectify.
The application has been submitted by RPS Group Plc on behalf of Thames Valley Police and a final decision is expected by planners by December 30.
